Meet local Author Kit Whipple

Christopher Whipple (aka Kit) is a 7 th Generation Clevelander and has been a life-long advocate for Cleveland and its unique and rich history. Kit’s family first moved to Cleveland in the 1830’s - he is descended from many of Cleveland’s founding families. His new book CLEVELAND'S COLORFUL CHARACTERS tells unknown stories of Cleveland and some of its more interesting citizens, many of whom helped create Cleveland’s and the country’s finest institutions. Kit relates insights on how Clevelanders were the basis for the book The Great Gatsby, and delves into Cleveland firsts, such as having the first municipal airport and being the first automobile capital of the country. Come hear some real life ghost stories, or discover a few previously unreported differences between men and women!
