History of the Hanna Theater

Now home for the Great Lakes Theater Festival, for more than sixty years the Hanna Theatre was Cleveland’s preferred stage for touring Broadway shows. Intertwined with its history are visits by such theatrical luminaries as Katharine Cornell, Ethel Barrymore, Henry Fonda and Helen Hayes. Come to the Gates Mills Branch Library to hear all about the Hanna with the Western Reserve Historical Society and presenter John Vacha, local historian and author. History of the Hanna Theatre is part of the University in the Valley cultural series sponsored by the Friends of the Gates Mills Library. Registration is requested (440-423-4808).
