SUMMARY:Artist: Bachar Azmeh (photographs)
DESCRIPTION:The photographs by Bachar Azmeh will be on display at the Chagrin Falls Branch Library July - August during library hours. Call the branch library for more details (440-247-3556).\n\nSimple Images\, Complex Vision\n\nAfter retirement from his job as health facilities consultant & planner\, Mr. Azmeh has fully focused on his lifelong hobby since childhood: photography. In his mid-seventies\, Mr. Azmeh has developed his own personal approach to photography in relation to his lifelong passions and experiences. “Art inspired by how the brain visualizes what the lens sees” is how he describes it. \n\n\nSimple Images\, Complex Vision will also be the title of a book that Mr. Azmeh is currently working on which reflects through images and text his personal vision of art\, life and the society in a rather unique approach. The title was inspired by “Complex Stories. Simple Sounds”\, a music album by Kinan Azmeh (the photographer’s son). \n\nMr. Azmeh was born and has lived most of his life in Damascus-Syria. His photographs are in private collections around the world and are part of the modern art photo collection at Syria’s Ministry of Culture. He has been a member of the Syrian Photographic Society since its establishment. Mr. Azmeh is currently a resident of Cleveland Ohio.\n\nThis present exhibition has three main themes:\n“Decaying close-up vision”: searching and finding beauty in rarely noticed objects and views encountered daily.\n“Archvision”: Architecture seen in unusual angles\, perspectives\, lighting and aesthetical point of view.\n“Minimalist abstraction”: Leave more space for the viewer’s mind to interact with the images captured by isolating the subject completely from its environment.
